Ndasenda Demonstrates Smarter Microfinance Lending Solutions at ZAMFI Summer School 2026
Ndasenda showcased how payroll data, identity verification and digital lending technology can help Zimbabwean microfinance institutions make faster, more informed lending decisions at the ZAMFI Summer School 2026.
As Zimbabwe’s microfinance sector continues to embrace digital transformation, financial institutions face a familiar challenge: expanding access to credit while maintaining effective risk management, accurate borrower verification and operational efficiency.
Ndasenda addressed these challenges at the Zimbabwe Association of Microfinance Institutions (ZAMFI) Summer School in October 2026, under the theme “Scaling Through Innovation and Operational Excellence”. The event brought together microfinance professionals and industry stakeholders to explore digital lending, cybersecurity, credit risk management, automated lending and financial services technology.
Using Payroll Data to Improve Lending Decisions
Ndasenda’s Chief Executive Officer, Never Ndemera, delivered a presentation titled “Payroll Data as Alternative Data: Faster, Safer Lending Decisions for MFIs”. He explored how verified payroll information can help microfinance institutions assess borrowers’ repayment capacity and make more informed credit decisions.
Traditional lending processes often rely on paper pay slips, manual affordability assessments and lengthy verification procedures. These can make it difficult to establish a clear picture of an applicant’s existing salary deductions and available take-home pay.
Ndasenda’s digital lending solution brings together payroll information, credit checks and scoring, and automated lending workflows within a connected platform. It is designed to help financiers assess repayment capacity, review deductions, strengthen credit risk assessments and improve visibility across lending operations.
The objective is not simply to accelerate decisions, but to support responsible lending based on reliable borrower information and affordability assessments.
Strengthening Lending Controls Through Digital ID Verification
Ndasenda’s Business Development Executive, Privilege Chivere, also presented the role of identity verification in lending. Identity fraud, inaccurate customer records and mismatched applicant information can expose financial institutions to unnecessary risk.
Ndasenda’s ID Verification solution is designed to help financial institutions validate identity information against Civil Registry records, supporting greater confidence in applicant information. Digital verification can help lenders identify discrepancies earlier, strengthen customer data integrity and reduce reliance on manual checks.
The solution can support identity verification during loan origination as well as the validation of existing customer databases.
Live Demonstration of the Ndasenda Financier Portal
A highlight of Ndasenda’s participation was a live demonstration of its Financier Portal, illustrating how different stages of the lending process can be connected through digital technology.
Using sample data, the demonstration guided participants through employee verification, repayment-capacity assessment, loan offers, acceptance, deduction setup and dashboard updates.
The demonstration showed how connected workflows can provide greater visibility over loan applications and reduce reliance on disconnected manual processes. The portal is designed to support efficient loan administration, clearer application tracking and improved operational oversight.
Supporting Digital Transformation in Zimbabwe’s Microfinance Sector
The ZAMFI Summer School provided an opportunity for Ndasenda to engage with microfinance professionals on the practical application of financial technology. Discussions highlighted cybersecurity, automated credit scoring, digital lending systems, reconciliation and operational excellence.
Ndasenda’s approach combines identity verification, payroll-based affordability assessment, credit checks and scoring, and connected lending workflows. Together, these capabilities can help microfinance institutions modernise lending processes while maintaining a focus on risk management and responsible access to credit.
